Lasaco Assurance Plc will hold its 46th Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, September 3, 2026, with shareholders expected to consider key board and governance changes alongside the company’s 2025 financial statements.
The virtual AGM, scheduled for 11:00 a.m., will include the presentation of LASACO’s audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2025, together with the reports of the Directors, Auditors and Audit Committee.
One of the key resolutions is the proposed ratification of the appointments of Babatunde Dabiri, Fola Tinubu and Yemi Adefarakan as new Directors.
Shareholders will also vote on the re-election of Ademola Oshodi, who is retiring by rotation and has offered himself for another term.
The proposed board changes will be closely watched by investors as they could influence the company’s governance, strategic direction and oversight.
Shareholders will also elect members of the Statutory Audit Committee and authorize the Board to determine the remuneration of the external auditors for the 2026 financial year.
The meeting will further consider the disclosure of managers’ remuneration and seek approval for the remuneration of Non-Executive Directors, which constitutes the meeting’s special business.
Beyond the formal resolutions, the AGM provides shareholders with an opportunity to assess management’s outlook following the release of LASACO’s 2025 financial results and to seek clarification on the company’s performance and strategy.
Shareholders have the right to submit questions ahead of the meeting, while the AGM will be streamed online through the company’s website.
The meeting comes as investors continue to monitor developments across Nigeria’s insurance sector, particularly capital strength, profitability, governance and the ability of insurers to generate sustainable returns.
