Regency Alliance Insurance Plc is set to appoint a new Company Secretary as part of a restructuring of its corporate governance structure following a directive from the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).
The insurer disclosed that its Board of Directors, at a meeting held on Thursday, August 27, resolved to separate the office of the Company Secretary from that of the Executive Director (Corporate Services).
The company will now begin the process of selecting a new Company Secretary, with the position open to either a qualified individual or a corporate organisation.
Regency Alliance said shortlisted candidates and corporate organisations will be interviewed as part of the selection process, with the outcome to be presented to the Chairman.
The development comes as the company prepares for its 32nd Annual General Meeting, which will be held virtually. The date of the meeting is yet to be approved by the Board.
The company said the necessary arrangements for the virtual AGM will now be put in place.
