SUNU Assurances Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of TAC Professional Services as its new External Auditors, following the retirement of its previous auditors after completing the maximum allowable tenure.
The change was disclosed in an official filing to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) dated September 21, 2026. Messrs. SIAO Partners, who served as the company’s External Auditors for the maximum eight-year period stipulated under the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) Corporate Governance Guidelines 2021, retired after concluding the 2025 financial year audit.
Shareholders ratified the appointment of TAC Professional Services at the Annual General Meeting held on Friday, August 21, 2026.

With over two decades of professional practice, TAC brings relevant technical expertise and sector knowledge to its new role.
Why This Matters
The rotation of external auditors is a key corporate governance requirement in the insurance sector. It helps:
Uphold independence and objectivity in financial reporting
Comply with NAICOM’s regulatory guidelines
Strengthen investor confidence through fresh professional oversight
Investor Takeaway
While a change in external auditors does not directly impact day-to-day operations or earnings, it reinforces SUNU Assurances’ commitment to strong corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
Investors should note the seamless transition and the new firm’s relevant insurance-sector experience as positive signals of continued transparency and accountability.
The Board and Management of SUNU Assurances Nigeria Plc have welcomed TAC Professional Services and wished the firm a successful tenure.
