United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) has approved its audited financial statements for the half year ended June 30, 2026, subject to regulatory clearance from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The bank’s board approved the accounts at its August 13 meeting and said the Nigerian Exchange and investors will be notified once CBN approval is received. UBA’s closed period will remain in effect until 24 hours after the half year results are released.
The timing of the results is significant for investors as the financial statements will provide an update on UBA’s earnings, asset quality, capital position and performance across its African and international operations during the first half of the year.
The board also approved the appointment of Ibrahim Ajimasu Puri as a Non-Executive Director, subject to CBN approval. Puri, a former UBA Executive Director who retired in 2022, has more than 35 years of experience spanning banking, fintech, telecommunications and FMCG.
Investors should watch for CBN clearance and the subsequent release of UBA’s half year results, particularly the bank’s profitability, loan growth, impairment charges, net interest income, capital position and dividend outlook.
